About trauma
Starting trauma work will happen at your own pace and will target your individual goals.
At this time, we do not have clinicians trained in EMDR. Our clinicians draw on motivational interviewing and processing to gently help clients process trauma and how it has impacted their lives.
Yes, and our medication management team is happy to help you navigate this along with your therapist.
That is absolutely fine. You direct your work at Harborside. Your clinician may give you input around impacts of trauma that they see in your presentation, but you will never be pressured to do trauma work before you are ready.
Absolutely not. Lots of clients struggled with multiple events over the course of a long period. Even though these might feel small, they might have had enormous impacts on how you now view yourself and your relationship to others and the world. Your clinician can help you start to find these connections and identify faulty thinking that might be trauma based.
